Menlo Park Laboratory, Edison At Work Historic District (9:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.)

An in-depth demonstration of the invention that made Thomas Edison famous…the phonograph. This is the technology that captured sound.

Weaving

Demonstration of the artisan craft of weaving on a loom, textile technology still widely used.

Lathe a Light

Armington & Sims Machine Shop, Liberty Craftworks Historic District (10:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)

For the makers in the crowd, don your goggles and shape your own brass candlestick using a 1917 lathe. Ages 6 and older.

Roundhouse Challenge

Railroad Turntable - Railroad Junction Historic District (10:50 a.m., 1:45 p.m. & 3:50 p.m.)

Try your hand at turning our 40-ton turntable, weather permitting, must be age 6 or older to operate.

Engineering Firsts

Outside Bagley Avenue Workshop - Henry Ford Model T Historic District (11:00 a.m. & 2:00 p.m.)

A replica of the very first engine that Henry Ford created in his kitchen sink in 1893, hums and thrums before your eyes. (weather permitting).
